A man has been found dead near a loch in Scotland after going fishing with some friends.
Alan Brown, 57, was last seen by walkers at around 9pm on Saturday evening, after his friends had left Banton Loch, Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire.
His body was then discovered by a dog walker on Sunday afternoon, with his death being treated as unexplained following a post-mortem examination.
Detective Inspector Gordon Sneddon, from Coatbridge CID, appealed to the public for more information about his moments from the time he was last seen to when his body was found.
"Alan's family is understandably devastated by his loss, and, although there is nothing to suggest anyone else was involved in his death at this time, it is important that we establish exactly what happened,” he said.
